Vitiligo in Children and Its Treatment
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, also seen in children, characterized by white spots on the skin due to a lack of melanin pigment.
Botox is a toxin derived from a bacterium called Clostridium Botulinum and has been used in medicine for many years. In fact, it is used not only in wrinkle treatment, but also in many areas such as migraine pain, excessive sweating treatment, spastic paralysis, rosacea treatment, teeth clenching treatment, gingival smile. There are no serious side effects when appropriate localizations are made at appropriate doses.
Botox poisoning, which we have heard frequently recently, occurs due to fake botoxes sold uncontrolled in the market. Unfortunately, due to overdose applications due to fake botox, serious poisoning, which we call botulismus, and even hospitalization in intensive care are seen. When botulinum toxin is given uncontrolled in overdose, it causes weakness, headache, incompatibility in the eyes, double vision, dry mouth, diarrhea and vomiting, heart rhythm disorders and respiratory paralysis, and can lead the patient to death.
In order to prevent such complications, our recommendation is to apply FDA-approved botox and to have the procedure performed by a physician. The most common problem I see in our patients who contact me is that they do not know what was applied to them before and whether the practitioner is a doctor or not. When having such procedures done, you should first learn in detail who the practitioner is, and in addition, you should question what was applied to you and which brand was applied.
Botox application is one of the cosmetic procedures that can be almost harmless with the right physician and the right product.
